Gaby Murillo

EXP Realty, LLC

1. Tell us about yourself (background/education/experience).

I was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica and came to the States in 1999. I started working in retail sales right away in South Florida. That's when I realized that I loved to meet and know people. Got my Real Estate license in 2005 and since then I have been working in Real Estate.

2. How long have you been a realtor?

I have been a real estate agent for 19 years.

3. What do you like most about living and selling real estate in Florida?

What I like the most about living in Florida is the weather and how close I am to my country. What I love about this business is knowing and helping people by being open, honest, and transparent throughout the process.

4. What advice do you have for anyone looking to buy or sell right now?

For me, investing in real estate is one of the best investments you can make. If you know how to do it intelligently, your return on investment is quite large.

5. What three traits define you?

Noble

Optimistic

Energetic

6. What would you be doing if you weren’t in real estate?

When I was a child, I always pretended that I was a dentist and when I grew up in my country, I studied dental mechanics because I wanted to work on something that is related to the dental part. I graduated, but I never worked in that career.

7. What is the most challenging and/or gratifying aspect of what you do?

Making sure, as much as possible, that my clients fulfill their dream of having a home.

8. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I would love to learn a third or fourth language, because I could help many more people to make their dream come true of owning a home.

9. What are your favorite indoor or outdoor activities?

My favorite activities are exercising. I love kickboxing and dancing. Apart from that I also love to travel.

10. If you wrote an autobiography about your life, what would you title it?

Never Give Up On Your Dreams

11. In your opinion, what is the coolest design trend you are seeing in homes today?

The one that I have seen the most and catches my attention is the open and modern floor plan.

12. Where is your favorite place in the world to be?

My country, Costa Rica.

13. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?

My grandfather (my dad's father), I never met him.

14. Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life and why?

Sofia Vergara hahahaha because she came from another country to this new country learning a new language and culture. It was difficult for her, but today she is one of the most famous actresses.

15. What are your top 5 favorite TV shows or movies in no particular order?

The Notebook

Animal Kingdom

Grey's Anatomy

Queen of the South

Ozark

16. What are your top 5 favorite bands/artists or podcasts to listen to?

Marc Anthony

The Weeknd

Adele

Sia

Imagine dragons

17. Where is your favorite place to eat?

Any Spanish food.

18. What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?

It was a house with an in-law suite in the back that looked like a barn.

19. What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?

Thousands of things but the one I remember most was when I went to show a vacant house and I found people living and sleeping there.

20. Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?

I love helping people!!!

Amazing answers, Gaby! It was a pleasure to get a glimpse into your life and background. Thank you for bringing your Costa Rican charm to our readers!
